US car parts maker Johnson Controls will invest $20 million in the construction of a new factory in Strumica for the production of car seat covers and upholstery.

Johnson Controls’ Global Director, Willy Van-Looy, and Viktor Mizo, CEO of the Free Zones Authotity, signed an agreement on the new investment.

The company’s decision to invest in Macedonia once again has been based on the excellent results of our factory in Stip for the last two years and the excellent cooperation with the government, said Peter Heift, Group Vice President and General Manager Trim at Johnson Controls Automotive Seating.

“Opening of a new plant is a significant step. It is not only a $20 millioninvestment, but also an opportunity for new jobs, which along with those in Stip will reach a number of 3,000,” Heift said.
