    For the second time in a row, Skopje is #1 in Cost Effectiveness and in the Top 10 for FDI Strategy amongst Small European Cities in fDi magazine’s European Cities and Regions of the Future 2016/17 rankings. This year Skopje Statistical Region proved to be a winner in Cost Effectiveness in the Top 10 Small European Regions category as well.

    In fDi’s Micro European Cities category, the city of Stip is #1 in Cost Effectiveness and in the Top 10 for FDI Strategy.

  • Cornerstone Laid for Hi-Tech’s Plant - First Domestic Investment in the Free Zone

    A cornerstone for Macedonia’s Hi-Tech plant, the first domestic investment, was laid in Free Zone Skopje 1.
    The investment, valued at €20 million, will create over 300 jobs and be realized in two stages. The first phase is estimated at €6 million, while the second at €14 million.
    The first stage includes construction of a plant, covering an area of 5,400m², commencing operation in the autumn with a staff of 100 people.

  • Italy’s Vitillo Opens its Second Plant in Macedonia

    Italy’s industrial group Vitillo officially inaugurated its second plant in the Skopje free zone – an investment estimated at €10 million that is expected to open 100 jobs.
    Vitek Macedonia CEO Antonio Vitillo said the company was planning to launch a new investment next year, their third in Macedonia, totaling the overall investment to €30 million and hiring over 300 people. It is a sixfold increase compared to the initial investment, a testament to Vitillo’sacknowledgement of the favorable conditions offered in Macedonia.
